One of the most important questions every high school student asks is, “What will I do with my life?” This question is appropriate for any young person getting ready to face the future and imagining themselves in a career. For a Christian, discovering what God wants them to do with their life is much deeper because it is a spiritual matter.
You will never regret spending time, resources, or effort exploring God’s will for your life. Serving in ministry is one of the most fulfilling things you can do with your life.
Ministry is a high calling. Here are four reasons why:
- Ministry is a high calling because it deals with eternal matters.
This world will pass away. Ministry is a vocation dedicated to God’s will and to the things of eternal value. - Ministry is a high calling because it is ordained by God.
A person would not commit themselves to ministry without the assurance that God had genuinely called them - Ministry is a high calling because it is a call to serve the church.
Of the many tools God uses to achieve His will, the church is His primary instrument to reach the world, make disciples, and empower people for ministry. - Ministry is a high calling because it is a call to be a divine representative.
The privilege of a minister is that he is God’s ambassador. He is responsible to represent God to the body of Christ and to all people.
It is important to understand that the call to ministry doesn’t come to everyone the same way. Leave yourself open to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and He will direct your path.

This is a great site, and I’ll be sure to link to it from our church website. As a Zion Graduate (‘82), I’m also glad to see them participating in this, especially with their total focus on ministry calling and equipping. I hope this site is found and utilized by scores of young people seeking the will of God in their lives.
We’ll talk about this on Real Teen Faith. Great resource!
The explore the call pod casts are awesome! They’ve helped me to look at ministry as a whole and really consider my options as to what the next step should be. It provides an excellent foundation for seeking young people or any age person seeking God’s will. It really helped me to understand parts of ministry that I was interested in and it also gave me the motivation to press in harder and seek a deeper relationship with God.
What a fantastic site. I wish this was here when was thinking about coming to Zion. PLEASE, all who are blessed from this site, SPREAD THE WORD, IT”S AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Thanks ZION
that totally cleared up a lot of things for me. i’ve just started Youth Alive at my school and I haven’t really felt like God was speaking through me as much since i got it approved. But now i see that maybe thats just because he wants to use me to speak through other people, to bring HIM to those he won’t come, it’s not about me, it’s about what He can do with me. thank you sooo much!! God Bless!!
Excited about Explore the Call interview next week with imbedded missionary to Afghanistan. Identity will be concealed (security reasons) but the story is like something you would read in the book of Acts. God is raising up a new generation of teenage Apostles to reach the unreached! 2010 http://www.explorethecall.com podcast interviews are off the hook!
Thanks to everyone who put this site up. God is really doing things in my life and I am excited to use this resource to grow in the Lord. Thanks again
