Explore the Call Episode 10: Running from God

If you are sensing a call of God to full-time Ministry, you definitely want to avoid running from God. You are not alone in feeling that initial apprehension. Maybe you are more regretful than excited about the call to ministry.

Here are some reasons why we are tempted to run from God’s call:

  1. Feelings of unworthiness. It’s normal to feel unqualified or unworthy.
  2. Lack of familiarity with the Bible and fear of what you don’t know about the Bible.
  3. Lack of Guidance. Mentoring will help.
  4. Fear of the unknown. God’s purpose and plan for our lives is revealed in bite-size portions. Genesis 12:1 – Abraham was called to follow God to an unknown place.
  5. Perceived financial limitations. Philippians 4:19 says that God will meet all of your needs. Matthew 6:33 – seek the Kingdom of God first.
  6. Avoid past experiences. Maybe your past experience with Church, or Ministry hasn’t been a great experience.

If you are running from God’s call, learn to trust God with your life and leave the results to Him. Try to re-engage in the journey and continue to Explore the Call.
