Good News!!! There is a supernatural way to connect to God’s will for your life. It is called praying in the spirit. It is necessary that after you have been baptized in the Holy Spirit to pray in the spirit.
Romans 8:26-27 says, ”In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.” (New International Version)
Praying in the spirit accomplishes four key things as we are pursuing God’s will:
- Praying in the spirit helps us to overcome our weaknesses (lack of ability or capacity).
- Praying in the spirit helps us to pray for the right things when we don’t know what to pray or how to pray.
- Praying in the spirit helps us to discover God’s will.
- Praying in the spirit empowers us.
Whn Paul uses the word “helps” in the Greek language, it has 4 distinct, yet inter-related meanings:
- “to come along side”
- “for”
- “in the place of”
- “to take hold of”
When you pull all of these definitions together, you see “Helps” to mean “a Person” (the Holy Spirit) coming alongside us, for the purpose of carrying the load. God’s Spirit wants to lead, strenghten, and journey with you as you explore the call He has for your life.
