Explore the Call Episode 24: How to Choose a Bible College

In our last two podcasts, we discussed the importance of seeking formal training as well as the advantages of going to a Bible college. Today, we want to give you ten helpful tools in choosing a Bible college that is right for you. This list will be available in the Equipment Room on this site.

When choosing a Bible college, three points should be considered:

  1. What are your needs?
  2. What options are available?
  3. What fits in your budget?

There are ten things to look for when choosing a Bible college:

  1. The choice of colleges (www.ag.org)
  2. The courses offered
  3. The location and facilities
  4. The areas of specialty (degrees offered)
  5. The educational focus (mission of school)
  6. The spiritual environment
  7. The quality of the faculty
  8. The ministry opportunities provided
  9. The cost vs. the value of investment
  10. The accreditation

When it comes to choosing a Bible college, there are many variables to consider; it’s up to you to prioritize them. It is never too early to seek God’s guidance in selecting a Bible college that is right for you.

In our next podcast, we will explain the differences between burdens, gifts, leadings, and God’s call. Remember to stay open, pray, and most importantly, keep Exploring the Call.

  1. Tim says:

When I was first looking for a Bible college, I had to take many things into consideration before making my choice. The one thing I really wanted was a strong Biblical foundation because that is what ministry is all about. Out of all Assembly of God schools, Zion Bible College stood out most to me. All my pastors from my home church are Zion Bible College alumnus and I have many friends that attend the school. All they did was rave about how great Zion was. I went to a Zion Experience (school event held twice a year) and God really ministered to me. Zion has changed my life and I do not regret coming to this school. Thank you Pastor Gene for your ministry.

    • Anthony says:

Amen Tim. Zion has taken great steps in training spirit-filled ministers of the Gospel. We have partnered with Zion because we have confidence in what God is doing in Zion. Keep pressing in to what God has for you Tim. If you continue to press in during your years at Zion, you will leave in the power of the Holy Spirit. You will be an incredible minister of God’s word. Remain faithful to what God is calling you to during this time. We will pray for you Tim as you continue your journey through Bible school. God bless.
